BAD bends and big potholes are to be noted as part of a new safety campaign.

Bus company Arriva Yorkshire is examining routes across the county, to help its drivers take care on the road.

Hazards are being spotted by project manager Bill Payne and representatives of the company's health and safety team and trade union representatives.

They are travelling around all of Arriva Yorkshire's routes, looking at the potential dangers on each one and noting anything a driver may need to know.

Photo of hazards are also being taken.

Mr Payne said: "Bus drivers are faced with increasing traffic congestion and new road layouts all the time.

"This, alongside the need to negotiate more complicated road junctions, can cause potential hazards for drivers - particularly if they do not know about the danger," added Mr Payne.

The information is to be put together and used by all Arriva Yorkshire's bus drivers at the training school.
