MOVE over Simon Cowell!

Talented singers, dancers and comedians competing in Brighouse Has Talent could face even tougher judges than the X-Factor’s Mr Nasty.

Emmerdale actor Daniel Coll, who plays DI Frank Blackmore, will head the judges line-up along with Sinead Coll, who owns the Starmakers stage school in Brighouse.

But its all in the name of family entertainment and talented acts will include local singers Bethany Berry and Rachel Crisp.

Hip Hop dancer Connor McLoud, local band Everdaze and singer/songwriter Roger Davies will also compete for the title.

A spokesman for Waring Green Players, who are organising the event, said: “This is a night of entertainment that will achieve two goals – we’re providing a showcase for people who want to perform and have a genuine talent.

“And it will be a show that can be watched and enjoyed by all the family.

“We’re trying to bring the local community together and we hope that the public will respond to that and come along and support us.”

Organisers say there are still a limited number of places left for potential performers aged 14 and over.

The winner will be presented with a meal for two worth £75 at the Black Horse Inn at Clifton.

The audience will vote for the winning act, but the panel of judges will voice their own opinions – which could rival Simon Cowell’s many famous put-downs.

Brighouse Has Talent will be at the Waring Green Community Centre on Saturday March 1 from 7.30pm.
