THREE Italian students spent a few weeks enjoying a taste of Yorkshire.

The trio, from Senigallia in north east Italy, were learning about hospitality and tourism in Yorkshire, courtesy of Kirklees College and the Galpharm Stadium.

Students Elia Nucera, Lucizezia Baldini and Nicola Verdini were gaining work experience for their course in Italy.

The college’s Gary Schofield said: “We’ve taken trips to Senigallia in the past and so we have a good relationship with the college there. They thoroughly enjoyed their experience and found it really worthwhile.”

The students visited Whitby, Scarborough and Manchester and enjoyed Huddersfield nightlife with Kirklees students.

Lucizezia gained a World Host customer service qualification while at Kirklees College.

She said: “I really enjoyed working at the football club and coming into college.” The best bit was meeting the football players and going to Whitby where I touched the North Sea!”

Nicola and Elia spent time serving guests at the Galpharm and the college’s Chameleon Restaurant and Portland Bistro.

Nicola said he would never forget the fish and chips at Whitby.

Elia said, “The best bit about the trip for me has been the people. Everyone is so friendly, Yorkshire seems like a really nice place to live and work. I would definitely come back.”
