IT was time for tea for a 10th time in Shelley.

And everything went superbly well for Janet Metcalfe’s 10th annual afternoon tea, raising funds for Kirkwood Hospice.

Joining the many guests were Dewsbury MP Simon Reevell and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, David Dinmore.

He took his turn with the teapot as guests enjoyed home-baked cakes and stalls selling handbags, bric-a-brac, toys and plants.

The event at Shelley Village Hall was organised by Janet in memory of her friend Maureen Matthews, who was a great supporter of the Hospcie but died last year.

It is hoped the event will have raised more than £1,000.
