A TEENAGER appeared in court accused of stealing a bike from a passenger waiting for a train.

Huddersfield magistrates heard that Thomas O’Connor, 18, was standing at a platform at Berry Brow railway station when he struck up a conversation with a 16-year-old who had a bicycle with him.

O’Connor is alleged to have then got on the bike and rode around the platform before riding out of the station.

O’Connor, of Ashenhurst Close, Newsome, denies the theft on February 27.

He was granted unconditional bail to return to the court on June 3.
