A teenage boy remains in a “critical” confition in a hospital burns unit.

The 15-year-old youngster was badly hurt from flash burns at an incident in Lepton last Thursday.

He was found badly injured at an outbuilding in Low Moor, off Town End Lane, Lepton.

The boy was flown to Leeds General Infirmary by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and his condition was said to be “critical but stable”.

Huddersfield Fire Station Watch Commander Chris Bell said: “We received the call at 4.07pm on Thursday and arrived at an outbuilding or detached shed in Low Moor, off Town End Lane, Lepton.

“The fire had already burnt itself out.

“The boy suffered flash burns and received care from paramedics before the Yorkshire Air Ambulance took him to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

A big police inquiry saw many officers spend hours searching buildings at the small hamlet.
