A teenage girl fled a car driver after he lured her into his car and tried to kiss her in his car.

Now police are hunting the man and have issued a strong warning to other youngsters who may be approached.

They have details of the man and have appealed for help.

Detectives are also studying CCTV images from cameras around the area.

The incident began when the 16-year-old girl was standing outside Snooty’s takeaway on Wakefield Road, Aspley, at around 8.20pm on Saturday when an Asian man persuaded her to get into his car.

The vehicle, thought to be a silver Vauxhall Corsa or Astra, drove a few hundred to Colne Road, Huddersfield, where it is alleged the man tried to kiss her.

The car then drove into Huddersfield town centre where the girl fled into the ladies’ toilet at Huddersfield Bus Station, in Upperhead Row, at around 10.30pm.

Police said the girl persuaded a woman in the toilet to walk out with her back into the bus station and the Asian man left.

The man, thought to be from Thornton Lodge and nicknamed ‘Goldie’, is described as about 30 to 35, 5ft 11in to 6ft and skinny.

He was wearing blue jeans, a green hooded top and Adidas trainers.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses, particularly the woman the girl approached by the girl in the bus station toilet in Upperhead Row.

Det Insp Andy Parr, of Huddersfield CID, said: “We’re concerned for the safety of young girls who are approached in this manner.

“You should not be getting into cars with men you don’t know.”

Anyone with information should contact Huddersfield CID via 101.
