TWO teenage girls and three men were arrested after a man was assaulted in Newsome.

Police were called to a house in Cross Lane after a 29-year-old man was found with serious head injuries at 8.20am on Sunday morning.

The man is recovering in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Police carried out enquiries during the course of the morning and subsequently a 19-year-old man was arrested at a business in Newsome Road.

Two other men aged 19 and 20, and two girls, aged 15 and 19 years were arrested on suspicion of assault from an address in Eldon Road, Marsh.
