A TEENAGER was beaten up in a motiveless, early morning attack.

The 16-year-old youth was with friends on the recreation ground off Manor Road in Golcar shortly after 1am on Monday when older youths approached them.

One swore at the victim, then punched him three times on the head and once in the ribs.

The victim was left with a black eye and cut lip.

The attacker is white, aged between 18 and 20 and is 6ft tall. He wore a red top.

His accomplice is white, 5ft 6in tall and with short, dark hair. He wore a dark top.

Pc Dave McSweeney, of Huddersfield police, said: "The two attackers could have been drinking in pubs in the Golcar area before the attack, so someone may well know who they are."
