A TEENAGER was hurt in an unprovoked attack in Huddersfield town centre.

The 17-year-old, from Dewsbury, and a friend were in a snicket off Byram Street when a man approached and thumped him in the stomach.

The winded victim fell and was then kicked and punched in the face and head.

He suffered a black eye, along with a small cut and swelling to his head.

The incident happened at 2.30am on Christmas Day.

The attacker was described as white, in his late teens to early 20s and 5ft 11in tall.

He had short, bleached blond hair and wore a black and white striped top.
