A teenager has been seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash at a crossroads in the centre of Cleckheaton tonight.

The incident happened shortly before 8pm at the junction of St Peg Lane, Parkside, and Dewsbury Road when it appears a car has travelled across the junction and struck two other cars.

One of the cars ended up crashing into railings at the King Edward VII  Memorial Park. All three cars were badly damaged.

One person has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed in the memorial park.

Cleckheaton Fire Crews were called to the scene and assisted with helping paramedics access a vehicle.

The cars involved were a Peugeot 106 and a Citroen Picasso and a third car.

Police closed the road to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the crash should contact police on 101.
