A teenager was stabbed in the back in Huddersfield.

But the injured youngster was able to run away from his attackers.

Now police hunting his attackers and have appealed for witnesses.

Police say the teenager was assaulted in Huddersfield town centre by a group of youths during the afternoon of Thursday, September 26.

It happened around 2.45pm, when the 17-year-old victim was confronted by a group of youths on Kirkgate near the McDonalds restaurant.

During this altercation he has suffered a non-life threatening wound to his back and it is believed he may have been stabbed.

The victim has run off towards St Peter's Street, Huddersfield.

The group has chased him briefly but the victim was able to get away.

It is believed there were at least three youths involved of African Caribbean appearance wearing light coloured clothing
