A teenager was stabbed in Huddersfield town centre.

The 16-year-old is recovering in hospital after he was knifed in the upper leg in a car park on Saturday afternoon.

Detectives said the teen was walking through Alfred Street car park with a friend when another young male approached and stabbed him without warning.

The shocking attack by the Wilkinson’s store, close to Huddersfield Town Hall, happened in front of shoppers at 4.30pm.

The attacker quickly ran from the scene while the victim’s friend called for help.

It is thought there was no altercation prior to the stabbing.
