AN 18-year-old man was threatened with a knife while talking on his mobile phone and forced to hand it over.

The robbery happened in Balmoral Avenue in Crosland Moor at around 10pm on Friday.

The 18-year-old was approached by a suspect who demanded that he empty his pockets and then produced a knife. The victim handed over his mobile phone and the suspect made off on foot.

The suspect is described as a thin white man aged 18-19 and 6ft 1ins tall.

In a separate incident near Royds Avenue at New Mill on Saturday, two 16-year-old boys were approached by two suspects.

The first suspect grabbed hold of one boy and tried to get hold of the other but he was able to get away.

The suspect then demanded him to empty his pockets and made threats. The victim handed over a mobile phone. He was then told to turn around and walk away in the opposite direction whilst both suspects made off on foot.

The first suspect is described as a white man in his late teens, 5ft 11 tall and wearing a black scarf over his lower face and a cream/sandy coloured jacket with pockets on the front.

The second suspect is a skinny white man, 5ft 11ins tall.
