THREE teenagers were hurt when the car they were driving smashed into bollards after ramming a police car.

The two youths and a girl were injured when wheels in the back of the green Citroen shot forward in the impact and hit them. The car was thought to have been stolen.

Police are also investigating if the wheels had been stolen.

The three were arrested at the scene on Close Hill Lane, Newsome, just after midnight today. They are a 17-year-old girl from Clare Hill and two 18-year-olds from Newsome and Holmfirth.

A 16-year-old boy from Newsome was arrested later.

Two police officers were slightly injured.
