A GOOD Samaritan dog walker could help find a gang who carried out a vicious, unprovoked attack.

Police believe the youths who assaulted a boy and a girl, both aged 18, in Greenhead Park may be responsible for a string of similar attacks.

The two victims were in the park last Thursday between 7.30pm and 8pm when they were approached by four Asian youths who provoked a fight with the boy.

He was set on by all four and kicked and punched repeatedly.

When the girl tried to intervene, she was beaten up as well.

The attackers only stopped when a man with two or three children and a dog chased them away.

Pc Jonathan Booth, who is investigating, said: “It is not the only assault in the park over the last five or six weeks and we have to be open-minded about the possibility it is the same group.

“We would especially like to talk to the man who helped the victims.”

All the attackers are thought to be in their late teens.

One was about 5ft 7ins tall and skinny, with short black hair and was wearing a grey and black hooded top.

Another was plump and had black, spiky hair.

The third has black hair, muscular build and was wearing grey jogging bottoms and black trainers.

The fourth was small and skinny.
