DETECTIVES have made a fresh plea for help after a 34-year-old woman was critically injured in a hit and run.

The victim was struck by a blue Peugeot 206 hatchback on Bradley Road close to its junction with Tithe House Way and near the Alandale Road junction at 7.30am on Friday.

She suffered severe multiple injuries and over the weekend was said to be in a ‘stable’ condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Police are still hunting for the driver of the blue Peugeot 206 – registration number NX02 FSV – which was discovered burned out on Aquamarine Drive in Fartown shortly after 8am the same day.

Det Insp Mark Truelove, from Kirklees CID, said: "It is vital that anyone who saw this car or knows where it was after 11pm on Thursday night until it was found on Aquamarine Drive early on Friday morning should contact us immediately. We belive this car may have been in the Fartown and Bradley areas before the incident on Bradley Road.’’

The woman who was hurt lives in the Bradley area.
