A CHANCE to take part in a prize draw for a Christmas hamper is being offered to all Kirklees tenants who are not in arrears with their rent by December 15.
Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing has announced the competition to encourage tenants to have a clear rent account by the start of that week.
There will be two hamper prizes - one for South Kirklees and one for North Kirklees.
To be able to win, tenants who pay monthly must ensure that they are paying in advance as required in the tenancy agreement. Those who have arrears due entirely to delays in processing benefit claims will still be eligible for the draw.
Principal housing manager Roy Ibbotson said: "We want to reward those tenants who have got a clear rent account and we hope that the opportunity to win a valuable hamper at a time which is expensive for many people will encourage those in arrears to catch up by December."
He added: "We also intend to introduce a quarterly prize draw with a cash prize for tenants not in arrears and more details will be available shortly."
