POLICE are still hunting a terrorist suspect who absconded while on bail.

Bakhtiar Mahmud Perwaiss, 28, who also uses the alias of Berwis, was due to report to Huddersfield police station in West Yorkshire on November 8 to answer bail, but failed to turn up and has not been seen since.

Perwaiss was arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 on October 11 by officers from Greater Manchester Police's Anti-Terrorist Unit.

He was charged with money laundering offences following a deception to obtain funds in Yemen.

A police spokesperson said: "There is nothing to suggest Perwaiss represents a danger to the public. The police are keen to locate him and would ask that if any members of the public see him, they do not approach him, but call 999 immediately."
