STAFF at Huddersfield’s Textile Centre of Excellence are throwing open the doors to local residents and businesses.

The centre at Red Doles Lane, off Leeds Road, will stage an open day tomorrow to show how investment in training is helping firms to improve their performance.

Visitors will also see some of the most recent innovations in textile manufacturing.

Managing director Bill Macbeth said: “We think it’s vitally important for local businesses to see exactly how training people of all ages in a range of subjects can be good for their company’s bottom line.

“We can help businesses to access grants and subsidies for a wide range of courses from apprenticeships to management and leadership skills.”

The open day runs from 12.30 to 3pm.
