WELL, the work has finally been handed in and I am writing this article in a slightly fragile state.
The reason? Celebrating my boyfriend Bryan's 21st birthday last night.
A decent night out takes on a whole new significance after being chained to the computer for the past few months!
I find that, since the burden of my dissertation and many other projects has been lifted, my whole outlook on life has changed.
It goes without saying that I have a much cheerier disposition these days, especially as I now have the time to look into all the fun things I have been putting off for so long.
Things like going to Amsterdam in May.
We plan to go the day after our last exam, mainly as a belated celebration of Bryan's birthday, but also because it serves the purpose of giving us the chance to well and truly cast off the shackles of university.
I've never been to Amsterdam but my learned friend, Rob, assures me that we will have the time of our life so we're all looking forward to it!
Of course, before May is upon us, it is unlikely to have bypassed anyone's attention that Easter is just around the corner, giving us the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends, as well as unashamedly stuffing our faces with chocolate!
I personally can't wait for Easter as it means I'll get to see my family who I've not seen since Christmas, although I'm not savouring the thought of the three-hour drive to get there!
Also, with the Huddersfield weather finally brightening up, we are reminded that summer is finally on its way.
I find that, whilst winter leaves us miserable and shivering into our Bovril, we all relish the thought of longer days and not having to wrap up in layers of clothes just to keep warm.
Bring on the ice lollies, beer gardens and sunshine, I say!
So, with all this to look forward to how can I be blue?
And, on that note, I bid all the people who I'm sure avidly await the arrival of this column a fond farewell.
This is my very last Uni Life before I set off for pastures new.
Here's to the future, thank you and goodnight!
