BRADLEY couple Kenneth and Molly Stringer have just celebrated their diamond wedding.
The couple, of Park Lea, married at All Saints' Church, Paddock in 1944.
Mrs Stringer came from Paddock and Mr Stringer came from Lockwood.
The couple, both 85, met at a dance in Berry Brow. After they married they lived at Longwood.
At the time, Mr Stringer was in the Army. He had joined the Leicester Infantry Regiment as a private in 1940.
Before leaving the Army in 1946 he had served in the Middle East, Crete and Burma.
He then became a teaser in a mill before becoming an engineer at the Thomas Broadbent engineering firm on Queen Street South, Huddersfield.
Mrs Stringer was a weaver at C and Js Mill in Longwood.
Both stayed in their jobs until retiring in 1984, when they moved to Bradley.
The couple have two daughters, a son, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr and Mrs Stringer celebrated their anniversary with their family and at a meal with friends in Morley.
