A CALLOUS female thief hugged and kissed her 96-year-old victim moments after stealing his wallet.
The young woman and a man tricked their way into the victim's home on Foster Avenue in Crosland Moor after claiming to work for Age Concern.
They told him they were there to check on him and he let them in. They chatted for almost half-an-hour to win over his confidence.
The woman then said she wanted to check his other rooms and left the living-room for a few minutes.
Shortly after she returned, the thieves made an excuse and got up to leave.
But she then hugged and kissed the victim and said she would be back in a week or 10 days to visit him again.
After they had gone the victim realised a wallet had been stolen from his jacket in the hall.
Det Con Russ Conlon, of Kirklees Police intelligence unit, said: "This was a cruel crime in the way the couple won over the man's confidence in such a calculated way."
The couple were white, aged 16 to 20 and wore dark bomber jackets and dark trousers. The woman had straight brown collar-length hair. The man wore a light-coloured cap.
