Police are hunting thieves after thousands of pounds worth of wellies were stolen from a trailer in Elland .

Sometime between 6pm on Sunday, March 23, and 6am on Monday, March 24, thieves broke into a trailer attached to an HGV parked at Ainley Bottom, Elland.

A large quantity of Gardiners Sandringham ladies' gold wellies in various sizes and 10 wooden framed bar stools were stolen.

PC Kate Wadsworth, of Calderdale Neighbourhood Investigation Unit, said: "A large haul of wellies worth thousands of pounds have been stolen in this incident. I would urge anyone who has been offered wellies of this description for sale, whether you purchased the wellies or not, to make contact.

"A smaller quantity of bar stools have also been taken and similarly if you have been offered these for sale then please give us a call.

"We are also appealing for anyone who was in the Ainley Bottom area over the time period of the theft and saw anything suspicious to call Calderdale Neighbourhood Investigation Unit on 101.

"Information can also be given to independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

This theft comes just a month after thieves stole £40,000 of Lego from a trailer also parked in Ainley Bottom. To read more about that story, click here .
