A man has suffered serious stab wounds in a daylight attack today.

Police and ambulance were called to Relish Piri Piri restaurant and takeaway on Wakefield Road at 12.11pm to reports that a man had been stabbed.

Detective Inspector Jim Griffiths, of Kirklees CID, said: “Three men have been arrested after a man was stabbed at a business in Wakefield Road, Huddersfield.

“The man was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary where he is receiving treatment for what is believed to be a non life-threatening injury.”

Officers confirmed that three men aged 43, 39 and 34, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and are currently in custody.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident.
