THREE men were remanded in custody charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with a raid in Bradford in which Pc Sharon Beshenivsky was shot.

Raza Haq Aslam, 24, Faisal Razzaq, 24, and Hassan Razzaq, 25, were charged in connection with the incident at the Universal Express travel agency on November 18.

Pc Beshenivsky, 38, was shot dead as she responded to an alarm call at the premises.

A colleague, Pc Teresa Milburn, of Birstall, was also hit and injured.

The three men were remanded in custody at Leeds Magistrates' Court and will appear at the city's Crown Court next Monday.

Hassan Razzaq, of Sebert Road, Forest Gate, east London, was refused bail.

His brother Faisal, also of Sebert Road, did not make an application.

Hassan Razzaq, wearing a navy-blue jumper and blue jeans, appeared alongside Faisal, wearing blue tracksuit bottoms with a white T-shirt and black coat, in the dock.

In a separate hearing, Aslam, of St Pancras Way, Kentish Town, north London, wearing a cream fleece and blue jeans, was also remanded in custody.

All three men were arrested in London last week.

A fourth man, arrested in Leicester, has been released without charge.

Court chairwoman Sally Davies said she was refusing bail because of the risk Razzaq may fail to appear, interfere with witnesses or obstruct justice and because of the seriousness of the offence.

Detectives investigating the killing of Pc Beshenivsky are still searching for Mustaf Jama, 25.

Two men have already appeared in court charged with murder.

Last month, hundreds of police officers lined the streets of Bradford for Pc Beshenivsky's funeral at the city's cathedral.
