THREE men were hurt in a spectacular crash on a moorland road.

The men - in their 20s and from Oldham - needed hospital treatment after their Nissan Micra was in collision with a Transit van on the Greenfield Road above Holmfirth at 7.20am yesterday.

It is believed the van rolled over the bonnet of their car, before ending up on its side.

The van driver then left the scene and contacted police later.

He was due to be interviewed by officers today.

The driver of the Nissan broke his right arm and the front seat passenger suffered a cut forehead.

The back seat passenger has a broken foot and bruised ribs.

All three were taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Police today appealed for anyone who saw the crash - or the vehicles before the accident - to contact them.

Both the van and the car are white.

The van was very distinctive and had the letters CML painted on the side and back.
