Three men have been charged with human trafficking.

All three were arrested and charged as part of Operation Tavernhouse, a long-running investigation into the alleged exploitation of migrant workers in the Kirklees area.

The men, all from Batley, are aged 39, 46 and 59, and will appear before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court in Huddersfield on December 1.

They have been charged with conspiracy to arrange or facilitate travel within the UK for exploitation.

Operation Tavernhouse began in July 2013 after one alleged victim contacted the charity Hope For Justice, which called in police.
