A THUG punched a youth in the face and stole his mobile phone.

Now police hope the description of what the attacker - one of a gang of four - was wearing may lead them to him.

The gang confronted the 15-year-old victim in Fernside Crescent, Almondbury, at 10.15pm last Saturday.

The ringleader demanded the boy's mobile phone and then punched him twice in the face.

The gang stole the phone and fled towards Greenside Avenue.

The victim suffered a bruised and swollen face.

The attacker is a mixed-race African-Caribbean of about 16.

He was 5ft 9in tall and wore a distinctive black hooded top with Schott on the back and baggy Nike pants.

Two of his accomplice were also mixed-race African-Caribbeans and the third was white.

All three are aged about 16.

Anyone who knows who they are should phone Det Con Richard Ford at Kirklees CID on 01484 436685.
