POLICE have called off the search for missing man Steven Cooper.
The Golcar man vanished into thin air after driving up to Scotland shortly after his 47th birthday on January 21 last year.
The ex-soldier's car was discovered beside a Badenoch beauty spot a week later prompting an extensive search of the Scottish countryside.
Sister Trish Cooper called on the Scottish authorities to mount a full search for her brother in Loch Laggan near where the car was found.
She said: "Part of the loch has been searched - but only part of it. The police in Aviemore and West Yorkshire Police think he is in there and all I want is the loch searched so we know for certain."
However a report due to be presented to a senior police officer overseeing the case is thought to conclude there is little likelihood of finding Steven or his remains.
Last week Missing People announced that Mr Cooper's disappearance would feature on billboards across Yorkshire in the hope of finding him.
His image wasn't shown in the Highlands where he is thought to be missing because the Yorkshire posters were provided free by the company that owned the billboards.
