FUNDRAISERS are reminded that time is running out for them to hand over cash from the Examiner Charity Challenge.

Almost £20,000 was pledged in sponsorship by people who took part in the annual event in May.

The money is already being distributed to charities and anyone who still has cash outstanding is asked to hand it in.

Top fundraisers from the event were Richard Sanderson, of Shelley, who raised £700 for the Forget Me Not Trust; Jean Johnson, of Newsome, who raised £700 for the children’s ward at Leeds General Infirmary and Derek Oldfield, of Cawthorne, who raised £639 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Just over 400 people took part in the popular event in Meltham, walking or cycling to raise tens of thousands of pounds for dozens of charities.

Cash can be handed in to staff at the Examiner’s town centre office in John William Street or cheques can be sent to Helen Roberts at the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Pennine Business Park, Longbow Close, Bradley Road, Huddersfield HD2 1GQ.

Anyone who has paid their money directly to the charity is asked to contact Helen Roberts via email at: helen.roberts@examiner.co.uk
