A Huddersfield pub has vanished from the skyline.
The former Grey horse pub in Birchencliffe has been demolished, to make way for shops.
A Tesco convenience store will be built on the Halifax Road site, with work expected to start within weeks.
Site owner, Huddersfield businessman Bal Khela, said he hoped work on building the Tesco store would start soon, in readiness for the Tour de France event next year, which will come past the site.
The pub was a very popular local for many years but closed several years ago.
The planning applications took a considerable time to resolve.
