Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has sent a special message supporting our special week of features to commemorate the 100th birthday of Harold Wilson.

Tomorrow will be exactly 100 years since Harold was born and he is a leader who inspired Mr Blair who was Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007.

In the message Mr Blair says: “Harold Wilson was a great Prime Minister and a great leader of the Labour Party, someone who has shown enormous commitment to his country to improve the lives of its people.”

And Mr Blair, the only Labour leader in the party’s 100 year history to win three consecutive elections, even has a small sculpture of Harold in his office.
