HUNDREDS of students took to the streets for their graduation procession.

Huddersfield University students were joined by the country’s top female judge, Baroness Hale, with many of the law students describing her attendance as a highlight.

Vice-chancellor Professor Bob Cryan said: “This is the second procession we’ve done in Huddersfield. It’s a great chance for the students to come together, celebrate their hard work and look ahead to their futures.

“Having Baroness Hale here with us was extra special.

“She is the first female law lord and it’s wonderful our law students will graduate with her here.”

Student Jo Rumbal has just graduated with a 2:1 in law and said it was amazing that Baroness Hale was attending.

Baroness Hale said: “I’m very pleased and honoured to be here, it’s lovely to be in Huddersfield and part of this graduation occasion.

“If I do inspire anyone here then I am as honoured by that.”
