IT’S full marks for the school’s Foundation Unit which has just received the Excellence in Early Learning national accreditation.
The award recognises high standards of learning, care and development and shows the unit is providing the best possible care for children.
Foundation leader Beverley Simpson said: “The award has helped us change things and make things better. It has been a lot of hard work and we can now continue to develop that success for the next three years.”
To gain the accreditation children are observed in the unit, how they interact with other pupils and staff, how their individual needs are catered for and how they work in groups and which areas of the classroom they visit most.
Detailed observations and reports are then sent to the awarding body before the accreditation is given.
