The first ever Tour de Yorkshire is just weeks away, with cyclists gearing up to speed through some of the county's prettiest spots.

The three stages of the race, held from May 1-3, will take in the east coast and North York Moors, cities including Leeds, York and Wakefield, and parts of Huddersfield and the Holme Valley.

Stage one of the race, to be held on Friday May 1, will see cyclists set off from Bridlington, snake up the east coast and race through the North York Moors before a sprint finish along Scarborough's seafront.

Spectator hubs along the 174km (108 miles) route will be placed in Malton, Pickering and Whitby.

The cyclists will set off at noon and are expected to cross the finish line between 4pm-4.30pm.

Stage two of the race, on Saturday May 2, will be a 174km route from Selby to York.

Then on Sunday May 3, the final stage of the race will stretch 167 from Wakefield Leeds, taking in Slaithwaite, Holmfirth, Marsden and Ripponden along the way.
