PLANS for a £200,000 facelift for one of Huddersfield’s landmarks will be the centrepiece of an event tomorrow.
Kirklees officials and councillors will be at a coffee morning at Longwood Mechanics Hall tomorrow from 10am to 12 noon to talk about the plans for historic Longwood Tower.
The 150-year-old monument is the setting for the annual Longwood Sing.
The coffee morning at the hall on Longwood Gate will be a fundraiser.
The hall needs £250,000 to complete a full renovation and well over £70,000 has now been raised.
It is part of a series of fundraising events in the hall’s 150th anniversary year.
