A MAP showing disabled people where they can park in Huddersfield is now available online.

The Blue Badge map shows drivers where there are disabled bays across the town.

Huddersfield has been added to the list of places across the country that were already on the website www.direct.gov.uk.

Web users can search by postcode or location to find parking.

Anne McGuire, the Government’s minister for disabled people, said: “Disabled people need the same access to jobs, services and social networks as everyone else.

“Therefore, they need the same transport and personal mobility opportunities as the rest of the population.

“Providing clear, up-to-date information improves disabled people’s ability to travel as they wish.”

The website also includes information on train station and airport accessibility and time restrictions for single and double yellow lines.

Transport minister Rosie Winterton said: “The Blue Badge scheme provides crucial support for those with severe walking difficulties or upper limb impairment or who are registered blind.”
