ROBBERS beat up a market trader then stole his van to use in a raid on their victim's premises.

The victim was unloading his van at Central Street, Dewsbury, when he was kicked and punched in the head by an attacker.

As the attack took place - at about 5.40pm on Saturday - an accomplice stole the year-old Suzuki vehicle.

The robbers drove to Dewsbury Market where they stole cash from the victim's market premises.

The van was later found abandoned a short distance away at Crackenedge Lane.

The attacker was described as a white male in his early 20s, 6ft tall and of stocky build.

He was clean shaven with a round face and wore a black bandanna, T-shirt and blue jeans.
