TRAFFIC lights are to be put up in the middle of Flockton.
The lights are a temporary safety remedy in the village, which has problems with heavy traffic heading to and from the M1.
Now the pilot scheme is set to receive Kirklees Council funding.
The Kirkburton Area Committee will meet next week to discuss the installation of the lights in the narrow section of the A637 through Flockton.
The new lights - which are being introduced for a trial period of three months - are to improve the flow of traffic.
The scheme will cost £4,000 and completion is expected about the end of April.
If it is successful, Kirklees Council will consult members of the area committee with a view to making it permanent.
