THE 39-year-old woman found stabbed to death in Huddersfield’s red light area can today be named as Geraldine Brocklehurst.

The victim, known on the streets simply as Gez, was found dying from stab wounds at the bottom, of Lower Fitzwilliam Street at 1.30am yesterday.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man a short time later and he today remains in police custody where he was being questioned by detectives from West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

Women street walking in the area have been left shocked by what has happened, but were back working as prostitutes within hours of Geraldine’s death.
