THE cost of Metro travel cards in West Yorkshire will rise on Sunday.

Basic Metrocards for rail and bus travel go up by 60p.

Metrocards provide passengers with travel on buses and trains bearing the Metro symbol in West Yorkshire.

All card types cover travel on all bus services within West Yorkshire.

The cards can be bought for a week, month, three months or a year of travel.

The most basic Metrocard for rail and bus travel will cost £15.90 a week from Sunday, up from £15.30.

The most comprehensive card will cost £21.20 a week - 50p more than before.

The price of Student Plus cards for people aged 22 or under and full-time students stays the same at £12.50 a week.

School Plus Metrocards for school pupils and college students aged up to 18 also stay the same at £5.99 a week.
