TWO sessions to teach people about tree-grafting have been fully booked.

The sessions – at Dewhurst Road allotments at Fartown in March – will be run by Forestry Officer Julian Faulkner.

He will be showing people how to graft old varieties of apple trees.

He will teach people a skill that aids fruit tree growing and to contribute to a new project he is running to create community orchards throughout Kirklees. Each of the people on the course will get two of the grafted trees to take home to plant. The other trees will be used as ‘stock’ for the community orchard project.
