A DISPLAY of Christmas trees will go on show in Honley this weekend.

Members of Trinity Church are organising a Christmas trees festival on Saturday.

The church will be open from 10am to 4pm for visitors to see a display of 20 trees trimmed by community groups in the village.

The event will be opened by BBC broadcaster John Hammond.

A Christmas street market is being held by members of St Mary's Church on the same day.

Sheila Barlow, of Trinity Church, said the tree festival would also mark the end of an appeal to raise £20,000 to improve disabled access to the church.

The entrance fee is £2 for adults with free entry for children.
