A young man who was killed after an incident in Golcar has been named by friends.

He was Sean Annandale, 22, from Marsden, who was treated at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary following an attack in Elmfield Avenue in the early hours of Sunday morning but died a short time later.

Detectives launched a murder investigation after police initially responded to a disturbance at the address.

Two men aged 17 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

A 34-year-old man who was yesterday arrested has since been released with no charge.

Mr Annandale’s sister posted a message on Facebook asking for ‘respect’ for her brother as details surrounding what happened are yet to emerge.

Athena Alexis Annandale posted: “Please give us respect”

She continued: “Love you Seany forever and ever and ever, just like we all did and always will.”

An area of Golcar around Elmfield Avenue remained sealed off today and a large police presence remained in the area.

A handful of residents living inside the police cordon are being escorted to and from their houses and a register of all those visiting is being taken.

A police forensics tent can be seen in the front garden of one of the houses and a cordon is also in place behind a parade of shops on Sycamore Court.

Meanwhile friends of Mr Annandale have set up a memorial page to Sean.

Floral tributes have also been left close to where the incident happened.

One of them read: “Sean, Can’t believe I’m never going to see you again or hear your laugh. I’m going to miss you. Love Anne Marie. xxxx.

Other tributes on Facebook read:

Roisin Gillespie posted: “Sorry for your loss, anybody that really knows Sean knows he’s beautiful inside and out! x

Steven Pegram posted: “Taken from us way to soon! Rip seany Sean Annandale

He also posted a picture of Sean on his Facebook wall.
