We’re used to seeing them hard at work in the fields around Huddersfield.

But yesterday dozens of tractors donned their finest livery to take to the roads.

The annual Pennine Tractor Run was held in Huddersfield and more than 80 tractors took part.

Many of them date back to the 1940s and 1950s, while others and from a more modern era.

They bore the names of classic manufacturers, including David Brown, Case and Massey Ferguson.

This year the starting point of the rally was the Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream Company at High Flatts, which was taking part in Open Farm Sunday, a national initiative.

The tractors left the farm for a five-mile road run around the area.

Funds from the event will be donated to Bloodwise.
