AN EVENT for people interested in a free bricklaying course is taking place in Huddersfield.

It will be at the National Children’s Centre in Brian Jackson House, New North Parade, at 10.30am on Thursday, January 22.

The event will provide information about the course, which starts in February.

The course will run for two days a week over 37 weeks and offers a Level 2 accredited qualification.

It is available to all Kirklees people aged 16 years, unemployed and receiving benefits.

It will be held at the Construction Centre, off Leeds Road at Deighton.

Clr Ken Sims, Kirklees’s Cabinet member for regeneration, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to come along and find out more about this industry and to decide whether they would like to apply for training.”
