THE mother of kidnap victim Shannon Matthews will not be appealing against her eight-year jail sentence.
Solicitor Roger Clapham today said his client had been advised not to appeal against her conviction.
Mr Clapham said: "Karen Matthews will not be appealing against her conviction on the advice of counsel."
Leeds Crown Court jailed Matthews and Michael Donovan for their part in abducting nine-year-old Shannon last year and hiding her in a flat in Batley.
Matthews denied the charges throughout the trial last year and blamed the crime on other people.
She has now been moved from Flockton's New Hall Prison to Peterborough Jail.
More details throughout the day here, and in tomorrow's Examiner.
