A BUS ferrying children back to school after a swimming trip was hit by masonry as a chimeny collapsed this afternoon.
The Stotts Coaches bus was hit by debris from a chimney collapse at the parade of shops on Swan Lane at 12.15pm.
It was taking pupils back to Mount Pleasant Infant, Nursery and Junior School on Lockwood Road after a swimming trip.
The debris smashed the bus door but nobody was hurt.
Swan Lane was closed between the junctions with Victoria Road and Lockwood Road for 30 minutes, while police made sure the chimney was safe.
