THIEVES stole two cars after hooking their keys through a letterbox.
The thieves struck at a house on Springwood Hall Gardens in Springwood on Thursday night.
One car is a black Alfa Romeo 156, number P2 PNW. The other is a Vauxhall Vectra, FG02 HBJ.
Sgt Tim O'Sullivan, of Huddersfield police, has urged people to learn from the theft.
He said: "Once again, we would urge people to make sure their car keys are hidden out of sight."
